I purchased this fork for my barb. baby and he was thrilled with it, so was I then I cleaned it and it stopped working. the directions said it was soap safe??? now I had to throw it away. Our Lose your gain. I still want to purchase another one I will just know this next time to only wipe the fotk ends off with a towel not clean it proper. sad in California

Both in the kitchen and on the patio, this electronic fork/thermometer is handy for cooks who can't recall the proper temperatures for degrees of doneness when barbecuing, grilling, and roasting meats and poultry. Plunge the fork's prong tips into a steak or chicken, and press the top button on the handle for five seconds. The internal temperature will register by lighting up one of six gradations listed on the handle: well done for pork, well done for other meats and poultry, medium-well, medium, rare, and very rare. The advantage of a fork/thermometer is that it functions as both, though it's not as precise as a standalone instant-read food thermometer. This fork/thermometer is powered by a five-year lithium battery (included), has a hanging loop at the end of its handle, and wipes clean with a soapy cloth. --Fred BrackMeat
